Placing a Bid
First, find an item you'd like to own. Then, decide on the amount you want to bid. Next, enter your bid amount and click on the "Review Bid" button located on the right side of each auction item page. Next, check that your bid information below is correct, then enter your Catalog.Com Username and Password, and then click on "Place Bid".
Once you've placed a bid, our system will monitor your auction and act as your proxy by doing the bidding for you. If a higher bid tops yours, your proxy (the system) steps in and beats that bid by a single increment.
For example, if the current minimum bid is $1.00, and you enter your maximum bid as $2.00, your proxy will post a $1.00 bid for you. If another bidder then places a bid for $1.25, your proxy will automatically bid in your place and raise your bid to $1.50. Your proxy only bids for you until your maximum bid limit is met. If someone exceeds your maximum amount, we'll send an e-mail telling you that you are no longer the high bidder. At this point, you are welcome to return to the site to place another bid.
You can raise your bid at any time, but you may not lower it.
